How To Make Homemade Laundry Detergent with 100% Lard Soap

Rating: 4

Visit my Etsy shop to purchase 100% Lard Soap — www.kcheriesoaps.etsy.com In this video, I will show you how I grind up the 100% Lard Soap in a food processor (or you can use a blender) to make homemade laundry detergent. You’ll need a knife, a cutting board, a food processor (or blender), a storage container (for the finished homemade detergent), baking soda, washing soda, and borax. This homemade lard laundry detergent is great for those who have sensitive skin or have had problems using commerical laundry detergent. Recipe: 1 bar of 100% Lard Soap (approx 4 to 5 ounces) 1/2 cup of baking soda 1 cup of washing soda 1 cup of borax Using a smooth edge knife, cut the soap bar into small pieces. Be careful cutting the soap because it is very hard and the knife can slip. You don’t want to get cut! Then add the small pieces of soap along with 1/2 cup of baking soda to your food processor or blender. Using the “pulse” button, grind up the soap/baking soda mixture. Then remove the mixture from the food processor/blender and into a bowl and add 1 cup of borax and 1 cup of washing soda. Stir the ingredients well until blended under a vent (to remove the dust from the air). You do not want to breathe in the dust as it can be irritating. Then place your completed mixture of homemade laundry detergent into an air-tight container for storage. Use: 1 tablespoon for regular loads of laundry or 2 tablespoons for heavily soiled or large loads of laundry This is a low sudsing detergent

how to make boric acid from Borax

Rating: 4

For this experiment you will need borax (disodium tetraborate) and hydrochloric acid plus methanol optional extra. First part of the procedure is to make a concentrated solution of borax. I did this by dissolving 7g of borax in 20ml of boiling hot water. To this approximately 20ml of hydrochloric acid was added. Next the solution was cooled and filtered. The wet boric acid was then mixed with methanol and set on fire. A blue orange flame was produced that had a slight green tinge to it. The last part was to heat the boric acid until it decomposed into boric oxide. Which when molten can be drawn out into long fibers. Safty :- hydrochloric acid is corrosive and an irritant. Borax can be an irritant to some people with sensitive skin. methanol is toxic and flamable. Always wear gloves and goggles.

Sensitivity Analysis in Microsoft Excel

One of the finest features in Microsoft Excel is sensitivity analysis using either a table (Excel 2003) or ‘What-if’ in Excel 2007. Suppose you want to start a cybercafe or a restaurant in a new mall. You have done a study on the footfall and the kind of people who visit the mall. You have also found out about the business atmosphere, security and rent or the outright purchase price. You also know the rates in the market that other businesses are charging, let’s say, for surfing the net per hour. You then estimate your capital costs like doing up the cybercafe and the price of the computers. You also use the Excel spreadsheet to estimate and calculate the number of people you’ll need to run the show and the amount of salaries you’ll have to pay. You have also estimated other variable costs like electricity and phone.

From the above data in the Excel worksheet you can calculate your total monthly or yearly costs. Now based on a certain price that you will charge the customers, number of computers and working hours you can calculate your revenue per month or per year. From the data of revenue and income you can easily calculate the profit. Till now everything was easy to implement in Excel.

Now you decide to find out how your profit can vary if you vary the charge per hour or the number of people who will visit your cybercafe or establishment. Of course, you cannot charge what you want but you can get a good estimate by observing what others are charging and what quality of service and environment they are providing.

Arranging all your data properly, click on ‘Data’ in the ribbon in Microsoft Office 2007 or ‘Data’ in the menu bar in Excel 2003. In Excel 2007 select ‘What-if’ analysis and finally ‘Data Table…’. In the popup window in the ‘Row input cell’ type the data that you have input horizontally next to the profit and in the ‘column input cell’ write down the price and vary it it by 1% 0r 2% so that that Excel can perform an analysis for, say., $0.5 per hour charge for a cybercafe to $1.5 per hour. The horizontal values can be the number of people per hour or month or year that will visit the shop and keep on varying the values by a certain estimated percentage. Click ‘OK’ and you can see how your profit varies with the number of customers and the price you charge. This is also known as a two variable table because you calculated the changes in your profit based on two parameters – price and number of customers.

You can also do a single variable sensitivity analysis by selecting only one parameter.

You can use the ‘Data’ and ‘Table’ feature in Excel 2003 to implement the same analysis.

The practical implementation of the above sensitivity analysis in the form of a training video can be found in the link below.

Meladerm Skin Whitening Product

Skin whitening is not an easy thing to deal with and it takes a lot of patience, discipline and motivation to carry on with your skin lightening goals. Our skin is not a failsafe organ, and it can be affected by a lot of conditions and factors, both genetic and environmental to us. Discolorations can happen anytime like sun burn, acne marks, uneven tans, black spots, etc. Apart from these acquired discolorations, there are also inherent conditions that we may have in our skin like birthmarks, freckles, etc.

What Skin Conditions Can Meladerm Treat?

Practically all conditions which cause uneven skin tone and discoloration can be remedied by Meladerm. Here is a list of some conditions:

-Uneven Skin Tone. This can be due to sun exposure and uneven contact of UV rays to the skin as some parts of your face may be covered or concealed.
-Freckles. This is a combination of genetic and environmental factors. Freckles may be acquired through the genes and it is common among blond and red-haired people. Constant sun exposure also aggravates the condition.
-Hyperpigmentation. This may include birthmarks, melasma or pregnancy marks, or other acquired skin conditions which lead to dark discolorations of the skin.

How To Use Meladerm?

Meladerm should be used regularly in order to get the desired results. Some users report that significant changes may be noticeable in two weeks of using the product. Full results will be evident after two or three months of continued use of this product. It should be noted, however, that people may respond to this cream differently and it may longer for some people to notice full effects.

Meladerm can be used with makeup, too if in case you intend to use it during daytime. Simply apply Meladerm first and wait for fifteen to twenty minutes before applying your makeup.

What Is Meladerm Made Of?

Although it may sound a bit overrated, these concerns may actually be resolved with the use of Meladerm. Out in the market since 2003, Meladerm has already gained its reputation as the most effective skin lightening formula in the market. Made of all-natural active ingredients like kojic acid, mulberry extracts, bearberry extracts, licorice, lemon juice, and alpha arbutin, Meladerm lightens our appearance without causing undue toxicity and damage to our sensitive skin. These ingredients targets two important protein enzymes which are essential in giving our skin the normal complexion and a healthier appearance—melanosome and tyrosinase.

The Holidays are Coming! How to Make Lavender and Chamomile Sugar Scrub

Rating: 4

Greetings! Today lets make some sugar scrub. This is a great gift and if you pair this with the bath salts from last week in a gift basket with a loofa and a nice path puff, you have a complete gift that didn’t cost you a ton of money. We will go over some nice packaging ideas in another video. This sugar scrub is relatively inexpensive. you don’t have to use the Demarrara sugar, you can use white cane sugar, but you will get a slightly different consistency. You can also add different medicinal herbs or even use an opened up tea bag. I will caution you, if you use tea, only use Black tea or green tea or an herbal tea or herbal blend. the picot teas tend to stain the skin. The ingredients are easily available and not that expensive. Use some repurposed jars and decorate them up. You are going to love this. ***NOTE** Only use Olive, almond or coconut oil in this scrub. Do not use cooking oil, sunflower oil, corn oil, canola oil or safflower oil. Those oils tend to go rancid and will not nourish the skin as the three I have mentioned. To use: Apply a small amount to the areas you wish to scrub. Do not use this on your decollete area (neck and upper chest area) or any areas that have sensitive skin. I like to use this on my arms, legs and shoulders. I hope you try this and I hope you enjoy it. As always. Happy gifting!
